Track Weekend

I really enjoyed my first Porsche Club of America (PCA) drivers education event. Two days on the track at Summit Point Raceway. The conditions turned out great both Saturday and Sunday. Even though the track was cold and wet Sunday morning it was mostly dry by the time my run started. The Potomac section of PCA hosts a very well run and enjoyable track experience. I was also lucky enough to have a past co-worker and friend as my instructor on Sunday (his track car is pictured with mine below). I learned a lot and can’t wait to get back on the track and continue to learn.

3G MicroCell

I took AT&T up on their offer of a free 3G MicroCell. The cell phone reception is ok but it could be improved so I figured I’d give it a try. Easy installation. I just plug it into a power outlet and an ethernet port on our router. After adding the telephone numbers I wanted to allow the MicCell to support our cell phones automatically recognized the MicroCell and worked flawlessly. I was on about 4 hours of calls yesterday and consistently had a clear signal and the calls never dropped. I placed it in a closet, not a recommended location, but I still get 4+ bar signal strength across most of the house.
